Avi Resort & Casino - Laughlin, Nevada

If you visit Laughlin Nevada and don't take a trip out to Avi Resort & Casino, you are missing out on a pleasant experience. You will need a car or some other form of transportation as Avi is a ways from the Laughlin Strip. I think you will find the trip well worth making.

On my first trip to Avi a few years ago, I was surprised at this "oasis" that was created out of a pretty rugged environment. On the banks of the Colorado River, Avi provides a breath of fresh air from the surrounding area. Of course you will find a variety of gaming options but there is more to see than banks of slot machines.

To start with, Avi Resort has the best pool and beach scene of any in the area. The only competition in the area is Harrahs Laughlin but Avi is the clear winner here. I have included pictures of the Avi pool and beach area below.

If you plan on staying for a day or two at this resort, Avi offers 455 deluxe rooms with lots of amenities. If you travel to Laughlin in an RV, you will find a KOA on the property with 260 full-hookup sites.

Whether you are a serious or casual gambler, there is lots of gaming to choose from. A wide variety of table games, approximately 1000 slot machines (including video poker and keno), bingo hall, poker room, sports book and live keno. On my last few visits, I was able to leave a winner (playing with minimum bets).

If you work up an appetite during your visit, you are in luck at Avi. You will find four full service restaurants: Moonshadow Grille, Feathers Cafe, Native Harvest Buffet and Ristorante Aviano. I have not tried them all but the ones I did were great. There is also a Food Court where you will find Subway, Panda Express and Sbarro's.

Avi also offers: Kids Quest - an hourly child care provider for children ages six weeks to 12 years; Brenden Theatres - an 8-plex theater offering the latest movies; Mojave Resort Golf Club - located across from Avi, the 72 par course offers four sets of tees from 5620 to 6939 yards.
